Gu Junli, vice president (VP) of autonomous driving at Chinese electric vehicle startup Xpeng Motors, has resigned from her position due to personal reasons, local tech media 36Kr reported on Thursday.

Wu Xinzhou, also a VP of Xpeng’s autonomous driving, will serve as person-in-charge of the team for the time being, Xpeng told 36Kr, adding that Gu’s resignation will not impact the development or the existing projects in the company’s self-driving business.

Gu joined Xpeng in October 2017 as VP of autonomous driving, responsible for leading the development of the self-driving system architecture and product development. Before joining Xpeng, Gu was a key member of Tesla’s autopilot machine learning business, as she participated in building the company’s machine learning team and in the development of Tesla’s Autopilot 2.0 technology.
