China’s  Neolix Technologies has started to mass produce its Level 4 autonomous driving vehicles that are designed for logistics purposes in its plant in Changzhou, East China’s Jiangsu province.

The firm claims its 136,000-square meter plant owns the world’s first production line for L4 autonomous driving vehicles, which can be fully autonomous under specific conditions, such as in designated self-driving zones.

The company said in a press release that it plans to hand over more than 1,000 such vehicles to clients by the end of this year.

It told Bloomberg that its clients include JD.com and Huawei.

Neolix is not the first Chinese startup that is applying autonomous driving technologies to the logistics sector.

Another Chinese startup called TuSimple announced this month that the United States Postal Service (USPS) will adopt its self-driving trucks to transport mail.
