Build, learn, network and stand to win US$3,000 at Dappathon, a hackathon for decentralised applications, this September 14 to 15 in Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam.
Organised by Dapp.com, a company looking to demystify blockchain and decentralised technology, this event marks the second stop in the firm’s APAC Tour, the first being Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Participants can expect a full-day development boot camp worth US$500 per person on 13 September, where they will get an introduction to the blockchain, decentralised applications, smart contacts and solidity language, Web3.js and Truffle, and other relevant topics. There are only 50 seats available for the boot camp; interested parties must register here and only selected applicants will be able to attend it.
The Dappathon will start on the 14th. The teams will get 24 hours to create innovative ideas which will then go through one initial round of pitching before being selected to showcase in front of a panel of judges on September 15.
Judges include Harpreet Maan, Founder of Blocklime; Cris Tran, Director of QRC Group; Zac Cheah, CEO of Pundi X; Victor Tran, Co-founder of Kyber Network; and Kyle Lu, Founder of Dapp.com.
The prizes are: US$3,000 for first place; US$1,000 for runner-up; US$700 for the second runner-up; and others.
Partner companies at the event will also be looking out for talent to hire. These companies include Blocklime, Kyber Network, Coingecko, PundiX, Etheremon and others.
The Dappathon held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 17-19 August saw 156 participants making up 30 teams. The decentralised applications were aimed at solving day-to-day problems people face. Subsequent stops include Bangkok, Jakarta and Sydney.
