Peptobiotics raises USD 6.2 million in Series A round
Peptobiotics, a Singapore-based agritech startup, has raised USD 6.2 million in an oversubscribed Series A funding round. The round was led by Hatch Blue, with participation from Seventure Partners, SEEDS Capital, The Yield Lab Asia Pacific, GrainCorp Ventures, Farmabase, Trendlines Agrifood Fund, Ponderosa VC, and other investors.
With this funding, Peptobiotics plans to commercialize its antimicrobial peptide technology to replace the use of antibiotics in agriculture. Its first product specifically targets aquaculture, aiming to circumvent antibiotic abuse in the industry and promote sustainable production.
Meaningful Partners invests USD 20 million in Allies of Skin
Meaningful Partners has announced a USD 20 million investment in Allies of Skin (AOS), a Singapore-based skincare brand.
According to a statement by the investor, the capital will support the expansion of AOS into the US across digital and retail channels. AOS is also aiming to bolster its marketing efforts, conduct R&D, and build a US-based team with the new funding.
RedDoorz secures USD 28.2 million
RedDoorz, a Singapore-based budget hotel network, has secured USD 28.2 million from Asia Partners, Jungle Ventures, the Mirae Asset-Naver Asia Growth Fund, and SIG Venture Capital, among other investors.
According to regulatory filings accessed by DealStreetAsia, 44,100 shares were issued as part of this deal. Classified as Series C1 shares, they were valued at the same share price in the firm’s previous fundraising effort back in 2019.
Sae-A Trading acquires Tegra
Sae-A Trading, a South Korea-based garment manufacturer, has agreed to acquire Tegra’s operating entities in the US, El Salvador, and Honduras.
Headquartered in Atlanta, Tegra specializes in manufacturing sports apparel. The acquisition is expected to broaden Sae-A Trading’s geographical presence.

- D3 Bio, a biotechnology company focused on the development of cancer drugs, has raised USD 62 million in its Series A+ financing round. The round was led by Medicxi, with participation from existing investors Matrix Partners China and WuXi AppTec’s Corporate Venture Fund. The funding will support the advancement of D3 Bio’s oncology pipeline and expedite the development of its assets through the preclinical and clinical stages.
- XF Technology, a Chengdu-headquartered supplier of artificial intelligence infrastructure, has secured RMB 100 million (USD 13.8 million) in a pre-Series A funding round. The round was led by Peakview Capital, with Cape Cloud and Elevation China Capital jointly participating. Smartpay, WYZAuto, APS, and more led yesterday’s headlines:
- Smartpay, a Japanese fintech company specializing in buy now, pay later solutions, raised USD 7 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by SMBC Venture Capital. Angel Bridge, Matrix Partners, and Global Founders Capital also contributed to this round.
- WYZauto, a Thailand-headquartered online tire marketplace, secured USD 2.25 million in funding from Vynn Capital. Other investors that participated in this investment include Vincent Lee, an early investor of Carsome, Oak Drive Ventures, and existing shareholders such as Kaya Founders.
