The senior vice president of product for China’s largest ride-hailing platform Didi Chuxing, Yu Jun, will resign from his post for family reasons, a person familiar with the matter confirmed with KrAsia on Tuesday.
Didi’s CTO Zhang Bo had mentioned Yu’s departure in an internal letter published by The Beijing News,saying that Yu has laid a solid foundation for Didi’s product and has built the company’s product team from 100 employees to nearly 600 employees.
Zhang will serve as the person-in-charge for the product team for the time being, while Yu will serve as an honorary chairman of the company’s product committee and will participate in the company’s decision-making process for key products.
Before joining Didi, Yu had a long career at Baidu. He joined the Chinese search giant as early as 2001 and once served there as a vice president in charge of product development. He left Baidu in 2009.
