Facebook appointed today Peter Lydian as the new country director for the company in Indonesia, according to a company’s press statement.

Lydian replaced Sri Widowati, who resigned from the position last March after three years in charge.

“Southeast Asia is the largest and fastest-growing center of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, while Indonesia is one of the most important countries driving this growth. I warmly welcome the presence of an experienced leader like Peter to lead our team in Indonesia,” said Benjamin Joe, vice president for Facebook in Southeast Asia.

Lydian will lead the business activities of Facebook in Indonesia, including giving advice and support local brands and agencies in Indonesia to achieve growth-targets through the Facebook platform.

“I am happy to join Facebook and waiting to cooperate with the team to develop our investments,  so we can give better support for business and community in Indonesia,” Lydian said.

Lydian,  former president director of Finmas, has more than 25 years working experience for companies such as Microsoft and Dell in Indonesia.
