Facebook is launching a startup accelerator programme in Singapore with the country’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). The program is called “Startup Station Singapore” and is currently accepting applications from interested startups until December 7.
This program is for Southeast Asian startups with a focus on leveraging data to drive their long-term business growth. Startups who apply must have already launched their products. They should also have active users and scalable business models.
Shortlisted companies will benefit from a six-month-long programme where they will be provided with personalised training, weekly check-ins, and networking opportunities by Facebook. Companies will be required to attend training sessions in Singapore in February, May, and August 2018. Facebook will cover the cost of flights and accommodation. Shortlisted companies will also gain access to Facebook’s co-working space.
This is Facebook’s second data innovation startup program after the first was set up in France in 2017. Three months ago, Facebook also tried to establish an innovation hub in China but was not granted approval.
