Go-Pay for Good, a social project from Go-Pay, is collaborating with Filantropi Indonesia to open up a new channel for charity donations. Those who contribute to Filantropi Indonesia’s activities can now make donations digitally through Go-Pay. Filantropi Indonesia is a nonprofit institution that aims to enhance the philanthropy activities in Indonesia by providing donation services.
Go-Pay’s CEO Aldi Haryopratomo explained that this collaboration is the company’s latest initiative to give back to the Indonesian community.
According to Aldi, he was inspired by a number of social projects, like Go-Jek Caring for Orphans, as well as initiatives where Go-Jek drivers and partners collected donations for the victims of various natural disasters that occurred in Indonesia. “I realised that Indonesians have extraordinary spirit in helping others,” said Aldi at a press event.
Aldi believes that facilitating digital donations is an innovative way to support others in need with the help of technology. It’s easy to give—users just have to scan a QR Code or choose Go-Pay as a payment method, and then funds will be transferred. It’s fast, easy, and tracked.
“As the leading fintech in Indonesia, we want to encourage the wider use of non-cash payment facilities, including in helping others through donations,” said Aldi. “We believe that Filantropi Indonesia with its close community network can accelerate the adoption of digitalisation of philanthropic activities in the wider community.”
Go-Pay For Good currently works with 182 foundations and houses of worship, including 105 mosques, in 14 cities in Indonesia. Aldi hopes to facilitate the utilisation of digital payments for donations by Filantropi Indonesia’s organisational members.
