Tencent’s (HKG: 0700) “enterprise-to-customer” app WeChat Work on Wednesday said on its social media account that it now has 130 million active users, as well as 5.5 million businesses on the platform.

Functioning also as an office collaboration platform, WeChat Work is built on the backbone of WeChat, the most popular chatting and social media tool in the country. Both apps are integrated in a way that allows their users to send messages to each other, making it easier for WeChat Work to tap into WeChat’s humungous user base, which now stands at 1.2 billion.

Previously, WeChat Work only disclosed the number of WeChat users it served, without disclosing its own active users. For example, during the COVID-19 outbreak, WeChat Work said it has helped 250 million WeChat users, up from 60 million last December.
