Food delivery platform Meituan passed 25 million daily orders, while the number of merchants listed on the platform reached 3.6 million, as of April 20.

Owned by Meituan-Dianping, and often billed as the world’s largest food delivery service, Meituan recently revealed it had delivered 210 million orders of milk tea last year, and also claimed a record 2 million domestic hotel bookings on the last day of 2018.

Its parent company also operates the Dianping on-demand food delivery platform. The two platforms merged in a USD 15 billion deal in 2015.

Meituan-Dianping reported total revenue of RMB 65.2 billion (USD 9.7 billion) in 2018, up 92.3% year-on-year, according to the company’s latest filing with the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong.

Revenue from food delivery, Meituan’s core business, increased by 81.4% to RMB 38.1 billion, while in-store, hotel, and travel business revenue grew 46% to RMB 15.8 billion in 2018.
