In-person events have been back for weeks in Singapore. KrASIA was recently at InnovFest x Elevating Founders as a media partner, where we got to hear about the metaverse, web3, green technologies, impact investing, and plenty more.
It’s difficult to distill a multi-day event down to a short passage. But if we had to pinpoint one takeaway, it’s that there is no shortage of optimism among innovators despite down rounds, economic downturns, and niggling uncertainty about the pandemic.
For some, there’s no better time than now to build their companies. As destructive as current market conditions are, with startup churn rising every day, this does form a filter to determine which founders and core team members are in it for the right reasons.
This might be particularly important for people who are creating new ways to interact with each other, working with materials that would have a significant impact on our environments, or trying to ensure that we’ll have enough food in the future. These folks have a vision to fundamentally change not only how consumers behave, but also the infrastructure that surrounds us.
InnovFest x Elevating Founders featured startup founders, investors, government agency representatives, and academics who each brought fresh ideas to the table. Check out Amirah’s recap of the event here.
